APRIL 3, 2018 – MIAMI, FL:  South Florida SPCA Horse Rescue (SFSPCA) is delighted to welcome Anna Figueroa, president and owner of Vantage Communications in Miami, to its board of directors.

“I feel honored to join such an amazing group of people who are dedicated to saving these beautiful, noble animals and giving them a second chance,” said Figueroa of the nonprofit horse rescue organization based in Homestead, FL.

Figueroa has served a variety of organizations, from charities to multi-million dollar corporations, spanning across general and Hispanic markets in the fields of healthcare, insurance, business-to-business, nonprofits and packaged goods for both domestic and international markets as well as retail.

Figueroa founded Vantage Communications, a full-service advertising and public relations agency, in 2009 after a stellar career of more than two decades in media sales and management. Prior to establishing her own firm, Figueroa was vice president of sales at WGEN Channel 8, national sales manager at WJAN America TeVe Channel 41, and national sales manager at Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) in Miami, FL. A graduate of Florida International University, Figueroa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

“We are thrilled to have Anna join us. Her talent, expertise and energy will have a tremendous impact on SFSPCA’s mission of rescue, cruelty prevention and advocacy for at-risk horses in Miami-Dade,” said Kathleen Monahan, SFSPCA president.

South Florida SPCA Horse Rescue (SFSPCA) is the last line of defense for abused and abandoned horses and livestock in Miami-Dade, Florida. It is the only thing standing between them and starvation, death and even slaughter. The GFAS and TAA accredited 501(c)(3) nonprofit responds 24/7 to local law enforcement to investigate cruelty and abandonment cases, and to seize and care for those victims at its Homestead, Florida facility. SFSPCA also educates the community about responsible equine care and ownership, and promotes the welfare of equines through local and national advocacy. Now in its 26th year, SFSPCA is the only organization qualified to rescue, rehabilitate, retrain and rehome horses in Miami-Dade. Since 2008, Miami-Dade Animal Services Department has provided a portion of the funding required to support South Florida SPCA’s activities for the care and rescue of abandoned horses and other livestock.
